Who are Murphy & Bailey?
Murphy & Bailey is a luxury pet store in East Belfast. Karen & Judith are friends living in East Belfast who decided to turn their knowledge & passion for dogs into a pet business in 2019. The name is a combination of Karen’s dog Murphy, an 11 year old Lhasa Apso & Judith’s 4 year old Sprussell (aka a Springer Spaniel Jack Russell cross) Bailey.
The business started as a combination of an online shop & attending craft markets & dog friendly events in Northern Ireland. They quickly became a popular & much loved brand in the growing Northern Ireland dog scene. In 2020 they decided to take their business to the next level & opened their first store on the popular & busy Belmont Road in East Belfast. Despite the challenges of Covid, Karen & Judith opened Murphy & Bailey in late 2020 & it has been a massive hit with the local community & pet lovers alike.
Murphy & Bailey is technically a pet store but it’s anything but your average pet store. The shop is stunning! It’s bright, fresh and has a Scandi feel. It’s been thoughtfully designed with clear zones including a coffee area for takeaway hot drinks & sweat treats for humans & a quiet zone for trying on coats/jumpers/harnesses for dogs. As a small business themselves, they are a champion for other local businesses. They are proud to sell products that have been designed and/or made within the United Kingdom and they sell lots of products from local Northern Irish businesses.

Murphy & Bailey has a small range of ‘own label’ products which have been designed in collaboration with local creators. Their range includes Irish Sheepskin Pet Beds, Murphy & Bailey NI bandanas & tote bags, hand poured candles & wax melts & beautiful handcrafted artisan Mud Ireland Pottery.

Murphy & Bailey has everything your dog could want & more from every day essentials to luxury purchases. They sell everything from puffer jackets to dog friendly popcorn to luxury beds to identity tags to poo bags to toys and leads. They have all your dog needs covered. They sell a selection of brilliant high quality brands but a few of my personal favourites are Hiker Hounds, Hugo & Hudson and Two dogs & Co.
Gifts for cats
Murphy & Bailey might have been born from the love of two dogs but they haven’t forgotten their feline friends. They offer a selection of goods for cats & just like the dogs they have everything from daily essentials to luxury items. Murphy & Bailey have cat collars, harness vests, toys, food & cozy beds.

If you are a dog or cat lover rather than owner, Murphy & Bailey have you covered. They have a beautiful selection of gifts for animal lovers. They have greetings cards, stationary, travel coffee cups, tea towels, shopping bags, scarfs, jewellery, face masks & candles to name a few!
